A Journey Through Music and the Sea

Christine Mattson

singer/songwriter

Some voices are meant to be heard—not just in the quiet corners of a room, but in the hum of a journey, in the rhythm of a life well-lived.

Christine’s began in 2000, when she first found her voice through the strings of a guitar and the soulful wail of a harmonica. From 2001 to 2004, she played across West Michigan, her music threading through the places and people who welcomed her sound. But the pull of open water was as strong as the pull of the stage, and soon, she traded solid ground for the sea.

As a professional sailboat captain, Christine’s world expanded beyond borders, carrying her from the rugged shores of New England to the sun-drenched ports of the Caribbean. With every journey, her guitar was a constant companion, filling harborside pubs and moonlit decks with songs that turned moments into memories.

When she returned to Michigan in 2015, the rhythm of life shifted. The music never left—it simply waited. And now, after a nine-year pause, that familiar melody is rising again. The stories gathered across oceans and backroads, the lessons learned in quiet moments and wild adventures, are ready to be told.

Because music isn’t just something Christine plays—it’s something she gives. A song can find you exactly when you need it most, pulling you into its rhythm, reminding you that you’re not alone. And now, after years of sailing, searching, and living, she’s ready to share that music again.
